Integrated Nanosystems Research Facility

The replacement Pressure Controller for the STS was ordered today and expedited. I spoke with SPTS and it’s in stock in the UK and best case scenario it will be delivered this coming Tuesday.

Thanks,
INRF/BION Staff

The PlasmaTherm and MA6 are down for maintenance and should be back up Wednesday once Jake gets in. The HF room in the BION will also be closed until Wednesday.

Thanks,
INRF/BION Staff

For future equipment training or qualification, please begin using the attached new version. It includes the new requirement for qualification to use the wet benches in the BiON and a column for training initials. Old logs will be kept in our records, so re-submitting for tools you are qualified to use is not necessary.

  • The SEM & Dicing Saw are now working.
  • The lamps have been changed on the MA56 & ABMuv and are now back up.

Please check with staff about any changes/upgrades to the tool before you use it.

Jake has changed out the CF4 cylinder on the Trion.

We have revised our equipment certification limits. Please see our website to find out the new limit for equipment you have access to by visiting: https://www.inrf.uci.edu/all-equipment/. All users should receive a two-week warning before access to a tool is revoked due to non-usage within the specified limit.

Thanks,
INRF/BION Staff

The e-beam evaporator is somewhat functional but the cylinoid valve assembly that operates the high vac is only operating correctly in one direction (the opening direction).

Users are required to have staff help them close the high vac valve so please check with staff before operating the tool.

Thanks,
INRF/BION Staff

As a reminder the Vacuum and Nitrogen must be turned off after using the Laurell Spinners as posted and the acetone waste containers must be emptied after each usage.
