Integrated Nanosystems Research Facility

The INRF and BION will feel extra cold today due to a failure in campus high temp water system. If you think your projects will be effected please hold off intil this is resolved. We do not know when it will be back up. Below is the message from Facilities:

“At 1:30am, June 15, 2015, there was a failure on the high temp hot water loop to the campus. The entire system has been isolated. The systems affected during the shutdown include: building heat, industrial & domestic hot water, and steam generation for cage washers and autoclaves.

We are working to identify the failure and make the necessary repairs to bring the system back in service. We will send updates as information becomes available.”

Facilities will be performing maintenance on exhaust fans 7 & 9 this Saturday from 6am-2pm. The back-up fans should handle load while the maintenance is performed but please pay close attention to warning lights and anything unusual if you are working in the BION during this time.

There is no DI water in the INRF Cleanroom. Facilities has been notified. This does not affect the BION.

The BiON will be closed:

• Friday (03/20) between 7-8am
• Saturday (03/21) All Day
• Sunday (03/22) All Day

Facilities will be performing exhaust maintenance this weekend therefor the BION cleanroom will be closed.

NOTE: There will also be a High Temp water shutdown in both facilities this weekend so there will be no heat in the buildings.

Due to Facilities Management generator testing this morning the SEM is down. Jake will have a look at it when he arrives. We will post when it is back up.

Facilities will be working on the roof at Calit2 again this Saturday. This will effect the hoods in the BION. We apologize for the inconvenience.

The BION will be closed this Saturday (02/07).  Facilities is scheduled to make belt replacements and bearing lubrication on all exhaust fans on the roof of Cal IT-2. This will affect the Fume Hoods in cleanroom. If you plan on coming in on Sunday please call Jake on his cell beforehand to make sure everything is operational.

The DI System in the BION is back up. The INRF will be going down tomorrow.
