Last night we experience a compressed air outage and it is currently still down. We are working to find out when it will be back online and will report back ASAP. In the meantime, all tools in the INRF that require compressed air will be down. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Integrated Nanosystems Research Facility
Starting tomorrow (3/17) the lab staff will start shutting down the equipment for the INRF Closure/Air Compressor Replacement. The only equipment that will remain functional throughout the replacement will be the Flood Exposure and Spinners. We will start bringing everything back online on the 28th if everything gos as planned. The BION will be unaffected.
Due to a bad throttle valve. We hope to have it back up the week of the 28th.
The INRF cleanroom will be closed March 18th – 28th in order to replace the buildings air compressor. As you know, we have been experiencing problems with low pressure and oil in the air lines for years now. This should remedy those issues and open up more possibilities for the cleanroom in the future.
The BION will remain open during this time.
NOTE: All compressed air to the Engineering Gateway West wing building will be shut down during this time. This will effect all 3rd floor labs as well.

The BION cleanroom will be closed this Saturday (12/12) and Sunday (12/13) due to work being performed by Facilities/Contractors at Calit2. It will reopen Monday (12/14).
BION Room Closures (Tuesday 9/8/2015 and Friday 9/11/2015)

Rooms 1421, 1422, 1431 & 1432 will closed Tuesday 9/8/2015 and Friday 9/11/2015 from 5am – 3pm due to Facilities work upstairs. They will be X-raying and coring the concrete above so be aware that there will be loud noises as well. Areas affected are highlighted in black on the below map (Click map to enlarge).
STS is down for repair on some of the ceramics. (We are working with STS to get the parts ASAP)
Ebeam1 is down for maintenance to regen the cryo. Should be back up tomorrow.
- HF Bench has passed inspection and is now open
- STS is down. Jake will look at it on Monday to determine the next step
The Filmetric/Nanospec is down. The power supply needs to be serviced. We expect it to be back online in approximately one week and we will post when its up.
