Integrated Nanosystems Research Facility

As of today we are no longer allowing guests into the INRF/BION cleanrooms due to safety concerns. Users caught bringing in guests will lose their cleanroom access.

Thanks,
INRF/BION Staff

Recently we noticed users have placed trash (used gloves, masks & shoe covers) in the laundry hampers and hairnet/shoe cover bins. This is a hazard and unacceptable. Please place all waste in the proper trash bins and if you have any doubts please ask staff.

Please come claim your personal etch containers located under the benches in the INRF rm. 2325 & 2320. We are cleaning house and these will be picked up by EH&S for disposal on the 15th of this month.

Thanks,
INRF/BION Staff

Jake will be off tomorrow and Monday (7/26 – 7/29) therefor there will be no access to the HF / inorganic benches.

Note: Jake noticed yesterday again people are using the HF wet bench and not recording it on the white board in the gowning area. Until this gets resolved, the HF benches will continue to be closed when Jake is not around.

Thanks,
INRF/BION Staff

As a reminder all users are required to record the wet bench activity in the BiON. Yesterday we noticed that two users did not record their activity on the board, which included HF activity. Please be aware that this is a safety requirement and users that do not comply will be in jeopardy of having their access terminated.

Thanks,
INRF/BION Staff

We have received good news from EH&S and are happy to report that work may resume in the INRF Cleanroom beginning tomorrow, 7/10/13. Based on the report prepared by EORM Consultants we have approval to reinstate use of our fume hoods for specific processes. This includes lithography, electroplating, dry etch and metalization processes. All other processes not mentioned, such as wet etch, have been transferred to the BiON Cleanroom and will remain here until the permanent fix for the INRF ventilation system is completed.

One fume hood in room W2332 (TSS#86187, Negative Photo resist) was not approved as it does not meet the minimum flow rate requirement of 100 fpm.
EH&S has placed a work order with Facilities Management to correct this deficiency. Work may not resume in this fume hood until after the issue is corrected.

For further information, please review the report prepared by EORM. If you have questions regarding your specific process, please e-mail us at: info@inrf.uci.edu.

Jake will be out today (6/21/13) and Monday. There will be no wet processing in the BION for both of those days. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Thanks,
INRF Staff

On Friday around 5pm we experienced very high airflow in in the lab. Facilities is currently working on the air handler on the roof to fix the issue. We at this time do not know when it will be fixed. The benches in the INRF have been tagged out until the work is complete and we feel it is safe.

Thanks,
INRF Staff

We are sorry to announce that we will be shutting down all of the benches in the BION until the work is complete and they are compliant. We will let you know as soon as possible on any updates we receive. We are very sorry for the inconvenience.

Best,
INRF Staff
