Integrated Nanosystems Research Facility

The proxy readers have been installed in the BION wet process rooms however they are still not fully functional. We are waiting to hear from Facilities on when they will be up. In the meantime the doors are locked but staff can let you in if you give them some notice. We will try and have a status update for you later today.

Today proxy readers will be installed  in the following BiON wet etch rooms:

1432 HF/BOE etch area

1422 metal etch & solvent clean area

1421 Inorganic cleaning area for RCA1 & RCA2  & Piranha & KOH

There will be no access to the wet process rooms while they are working. Once installed, only those users that have been qualified (training log must be signed) and that have completed the chemical usage form will be authorized to access. Let us know if you have any questions.

The chemical usage form can be downloaded from:
https://www.inrf.uci.edu/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/chemical-usage-form.pdf

The INRF & BION lab will be closed this coming Saturday and Sunday for facilities maintenance on the exhaust.

Apparently facilities ordered the wrong part and we will have to wait longer for the correct one to arrive. We will let you know once we get a date. Wet etch rooms will operate as we have been until then. In the mean time get your equipment logs signed and chemical usage forms in to make the transition go smooth once they do get installed.

The INRF & BION cleanrooms will be closing down at 4pm this Friday due to the campus wide power shutdown. We expect the labs to be back up late Monday or worst case Tuesday depending on how smoothly everything powers back up. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Air Handler Unit (AHU) # 7 will be shutdown tomorrow between 7:00AM – 8:00AM. This will affect the INRF cleanroom as the pressure will be negative during this time, so please adjust your workload accordingly.

We apologize for any inconvenience.

Facilities will be shutting down Air handler #3 for about 30 mins right now. The make up handler should pick up the slack but please keep an eye out for any changes.

We expect the installation of the proxy card door readers to be installed this coming Tuesday, 1/28/14. Once installed only those users that have been qualified (training log must be signed) and that have completed the chemical usage form: https://www.inrf.uci.edu/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/chemical-usage-form.pdf will be authorized to access.

Let us know if you have any questions.

Please direct all minor trouble calls for the BION to Gregory Gallardo @ gegallar@calit2.uci.edu. This would be for issues regarding high/low heat or humidity and card reader issues. Please note the room # and be descriptive of the issue. Any major issues should still be reported to Jake Hes and/or Ryan Smith ASAP.

Thanks,
INRF/BION Staff

We are having a proxy reader installed on the back door of the INRF. Users will be able to access the cleanroom using their existing INRF/BION card during normal hours and afterhours for those that are qualified.
